There has also been a new increase in the number of patients being treated for coronavirus in England. They have now reached 10,462, up 48% on a weekly basis. They are most from March 1st.

In London, the epicenter of the Omicron variant, there are 3,310 patients. This is an increase of 63% in one week.
As of mid-January, there were 7,917 patients in the British capital.
Over 90% of Covid cases in England are from Omicron
More than nine out of ten cases of coronavirus in the community in England are now of the Omicron variant, according to the UK Health Insurance Agency.
In the last 24 hours, another 39,923 cases of the new variant were identified, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of Omicron to 210,122.
The service announced that since in fact almost all Covid cases are from Omicron it will stop publishing data specifically for the new variant after December 31st.
The suspected cases of the variant that have been identified are over 486,000.
766 patients with coronavirus have been confirmed to be carriers of Omicron, with 53 carriers having died.
