Today, the State showed its gratitude for the contribution of the employees of the NHS during its forty (40) years of operation in a special ceremony organized by the Ministry of Health, in the presence of Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis, with the awarding of honorary awards to health professionals and clinics.

The health crisis and its aftermath YOU monopolized the positions of the prime minister and the leadership of the Ministry of Health.

As said by Prime Ministerthe NHS could not have succeeded in the health crisis if it were not for the efforts of its employees.

He noted that Health is a priority and stated that the budget is increased this year and amounts to 5.2 billion euros, when in 2019 it was 3.8 billion.

He said the financial tools exist, so that there are interventions in the National Social Security System, which the citizens will soon see.

“ESY is not just infrastructure, it is its people and we support them“, he said the Minister of Health Thanos Pleuris.

“The award“, he emphasized, “it is indicative, as your persons will be awarded to the whole of the employees of the ESY».

He added that 1.5 billion euros will be allocated from the Recovery Fund for interventions in 80 TEP hospitals and 157 Health Centers.

“We reward the work you do during the pandemic and in your person all the people of the NSS“, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, emphasized for her part.

“For the first time” as he said “the people of the NSS are awarded and we want this to become an institution”.

As he said, the pandemic showed us that the health system must be ready to face crises and be flexible.

He announced that 800 permanent positions of doctors will be announced in the next period, while new recruitments of nurses will follow.
