The city of Amparo (138 km from SP) published this Thursday (6) a decree prohibiting agglomerations and imposing the closing of shops until 11 pm as a measure to face Covid.

The municipality is the first in the state to resume measures of restrictions after the emergence of the new variant. The guidelines began to take effect this Friday (7) and continue until January 31.

In a note, the prefecture reported that the city recorded 194 people from Covid until mid-afternoon this Thursday. The number is 1,112.50% higher than last week. In the daily bulletin, the municipal administration updated informing that there were 106 new cases.

“Decree 6,440 prohibits any activity that may lead to agglomeration. The holding of parties, events and get-togethers, whether in public or private spaces for collective use, with or without access to the general public, cannot happen”, says the note.

The guidance also prohibits agglomerations in homes of people who do not belong to the family nucleus.

The city government vetoed the consumption of alcoholic beverages after 11 pm on public roads. At this time, commercial activities with face-to-face service must also be closed.

If the order is not complied with, the municipal administration informed that it will apply a fine of R$ 1,500 to people who are consuming alcoholic beverages. If there is a group of people, the beverage supplier will have to pay a double penalty of $3,000.

During the period, it is also prohibited to rent properties for season, summer, events and parties. And, if the determination is not respected, there will be a fine of BRL 6,000 for the owner and BRL 3,000 for the lessee.

Since November 1, 2021, pandemic restrictions were released in the state of São Paulo. After 588 days, all establishments could operate at full capacity, with no time limit or space determination.

Parties, clubs, concerts, events with fans were authorized without any restrictions from the date. The only mandatory regulations in the state were the use of a mask and the requirement for a vaccine passport at events with more than 500 people. Distancing is no longer a rule and has become just a recommendation by state authorities.

It was the first time since March 22, 2020, when Governor João Doria (PSDB) decreed a quarantine in the state to contain the spread of Covid, that commercial establishments of all types could operate without limitations.

The releases established the end of the São Paulo Plan, which was established to coordinate the flexibilization of economic activities in the state.
