Isolation by Covid can be reduced to 5 days, says Queiroga

by

Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga said the ministry could reduce isolation for asymptomatic people with Covid from ten to five days.

When talking about this possibility, the minister mentioned that the CDC (United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has already given this recommendation. A meeting of the minister with members of the portfolio is scheduled for this Friday (7) to discuss the matter.

The minister also spoke about the leak of data from doctors who participated in the public hearing promoted by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday (4).

“I’m the minister of health, I’m not the ministry’s data inspector,” he declared.

Three doctors, who advocate the vaccination of children against Covid-19, began to suffer attacks after having their personal data leaked.

To participate in the public hearing, the doctors had to deliver to the ministry the “declarations of conflicts of interest”, a document that clarifies the companies that provided services in recent years.

These documents were leaked in full with the doctors’ personal data, such as cell phone, email.

The doctors are Isabella Ballalai, vice president of the Brazilian Society of Immunizations; Marco Aurélio Sáfadi, from the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics; and Renato Kfouri, director of the Brazilian Society of Immunizations.

Bolsonarist deputy Bia Kicis (PSL), who participated in the hearing and indicated three more doctors against childhood vaccination to participate in the hearing, admitted to the newspaper O Globo, which revealed the case, that she shared the statements in a WhatsApp group of doctors. , but denied being responsible for the leak.

On Thursday night (6), Bia Kicis said that there is a lot of interest in knowing who will be responsible for an alleged leak and no interest in knowing who will be responsible for any damage from the side effects of vaccines in children.

“Also zero interest in a possible conflict of interest in those who defend the vaccine at all costs and have 20 vaccination clinics or in those who declare that in the last 5 years they received sponsorship from vaccine manufacturers”, he said in another publication.

Rosana Leite de Melo, Extraordinary Secretary for Combating Covid-19, even published a note of clarification saying that she did not authorize or make available for disclosure the document “declaration of conflict of interest”.

“This secretariat does not condone the disclosure of personal data without the consent of those involved. Any disclosure of said information took place improperly”, he said in the note.
