Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, made her first statement after the uproar caused by her husband being quarantined in Australia as he was not vaccinated, at the risk of deportation.
In a post on her personal Instagram page, she wrote a lengthy text, expressing her dissatisfaction with what happened with her husband’s participation in the Australian tennis tournament, wishing everyone a happy birthday as she and her family now celebrate Christmas, following the old orthodox festive calendar.
“Today is Christmas for us, my wishes are for everyone to be healthy, happy, safe and with their families. I wish we were all together today, but my consolation is that at least we are healthy. And we will evolve from this experience. Thank you, all over the world for using your voice to send love to my husband. I take a deep breath to calm down and find gratitude right now for everything that is happening. The only law that we must all respect beyond all borders is Love and respect for man. Love and forgiveness are never wrong but a powerful force. I wish you are all well!”.
