Brazil recorded 305 deaths by Covid and 10,648 cases of the disease, this Saturday (6). With that, the country reached 609,417 deaths and 21,871,930 people infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

Due to a technical problem of the consortium, the data on deaths and cases in Piauí were not updated. The Federal District also did not have updated data.

Moving averages of deaths and cases continue to decline from two weeks ago. Now, the country has 236 deaths a day and 10,033 daily infections.

Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 20 states and the Federal District.

Brazil registered 941,663 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Saturday. According to data from the state health departments, there were 254,996 first doses and 395,336 second. 2,161 single doses and 289,170 booster doses were also recorded.

In Alagoas and Mato Grosso, there was a negative record of single doses, respectively -65 and -64.

In all, 155,663,694 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil —114,691,546 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 119,221,554 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.

Thus, the country already has 72.97% of the population with the 1st dose and 55.89% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.03% and 73.55%.

Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distancing, experts say.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
