Instructions from pediatricians for vaccinating children against covid- What to watch out for

by

The Panhellenic Federation of Freelance Pediatricians informs the parents of children who have symptoms of infection (fever, cough, runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea) or are generally unwell, before vaccinating their child against covid-19 disease, to first their pediatrician and ask to be examined.

With schools open and society in full mobility, the flu and respiratory infections during this period will afflict much of the child population, the federation said in a statement.

“It is not uncommon for a cough to be the result of bronchitis or pneumonia, or even infection with the micron variant of the coronavirus,” the doctors note.

For those who have a fever on the day of vaccination, or 1-2 days before, let them contact the pediatrician who monitors them. Let them ask him to consider them and in case he advises them to postpone the vaccination, to follow his advice.

“Vaccinate your children against Covid-19. “The Pfizer vaccine in children has been shown to be safe and very effective,” the federation concludes.
