The “Dentist Pass” Program is a support measure for the performance of preventive dental care for children aged six to twelve (6-12).

The Program aims to optimize the quality of preventive dentistry with a target group of children aged 6-12 years and the consolidation of the philosophy of preventive dentistry and informing parents and children about the need for careful care of the oral cavity, so that the latter grow up without dental problems. It includes checking oral hygiene, cleaning and removing dental plaque, fluoridation and generally providing instructions for children’s oral hygiene.

What is the Dentist Pass Program?

The “Dentist Pass” Program is a support measure for the performance of preventive dental care for children aged six to twelve (6-12). It is part of the action “Implementation of the Spyros Doxiadis National Public Health Prevention Program” (Action code 16783) and is implemented within the framework of the “National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0” with funding from the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

It includes checking oral hygiene, cleaning and removing dental plaque, fluoridation and generally providing instructions for children’s oral hygiene.

Who are the beneficiaries of the “Dentist Pass” Program?

Potential beneficiaries of the “Dentist Pass” Program are children who were born during the calendar years 2011 to 2017, legally reside in Greek territory and have a Social Security Number (AMKA) or a Temporary Foreigner’s Insurance and Health Care Number (PAAUPA).

Who can apply for the “Dentist Pass”?

The benefit is received on behalf of each beneficiary child by an adult natural person who exercises parental care or custody or guardianship of the child or provides insurance coverage for the child and acts as the child’s representative for the purposes of the “Dentist Pass” Program. This natural person, to whom the aid amount is credited, is understood as the Beneficiary of the aid.

How much is the financial support through “Dentist Pass”?

The amount of aid per beneficiary (child) amounts to forty euros (€40). The financial aid corresponding to each beneficiary is credited to the beneficiary in the form of a digital debit card (Dentist Pass). Each digital debit card may cover all or part of the actual cost of the intended dental care services of the beneficiary child or children up to the above amount. The monetary amount of the aid can be used by the beneficiaries exclusively for the payment of preventive dental care acts to the specific beneficiaries for whom it was originally issued and intended. The use of this amount for another purpose, its utilization by a third party or its withdrawal is not allowed.
