Brazil recorded 214 deaths by Covid and 12,104 cases of the disease, this Tuesday (9). With that, the country reached 609,816 lives lost by Covid and 21,896,084 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Five states reported no deaths by Covid. They were: Acre, Amapá, Roraima, Santa Catarina and Sergipe. In the second, there were eight, including São Paulo, which happened for the first time in the pandemic.
The moving average of deaths had a 30% reduction from the figure two weeks ago and is now 243 deaths per day.
The average of cases is stable, that is, without variations above 15%. She now has 11,039 infections a day.
Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.
Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 24 states and the Federal District.
Brazil registered 1,832,829 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Tuesday. According to data from the state health departments, there were 263,721 first doses and 1,154,874 second. 51,858 single doses and 362,376 booster doses were also recorded.
Due to an instability in the Ministry of Health’s system, Alagoas and Mato Grosso present negative first dose data, respectively -78,868 and -77,189.
For single doses, there were also negative records in Ceará (-1,165), Minas Gerais (-1,165) and Mato Grosso (-2).
In all, 156,324,440 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil — 117,140,575 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 121.764,779 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.
Thus, the country already has 73.28% of the population with the 1st dose and 57.08% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.44% and 75.12%.
Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.
The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
