For the second consecutive year, Metropolitan General’s First Gynecology Clinic and ISLE Academy are organizing the 3-day R-SEGA Workshop, a pioneering educational initiative dedicated to the application of robotic surgery in gynecology.

The aim of the workshop, inspired by Dr. Nikolaos Plevri, Director of the 1st Gynecology Clinic -Department of Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery of Metropolitan General and Certified Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery by SRC, is to gather leading experts from all over the world in order to share knowledge, develop skills and present the latest advances in the field of robotic surgery in gynecology.

During the R-SEGA Workshop participants will have the opportunity to be trained in advanced robotic and minimally invasive gynecological surgery techniques, using biological tissue simulation models.

This highly realistic practice in high precision surgical simulation will provide participants with a unique opportunity to develop their skills.

Education

Participants will have the opportunity to perform, using 4th generation robotic systems, operations such as: Hysterectomy, fibromyomectomy, removal of ovaries, salpingectomy and peritoneal biopsies. Also, minimally invasive surgery exercises will be performed by all participants using 3 robotic systems during the second and third day of R-SEGA.

Practical experience

During the last 2 days which will take place in the modern facilities of the ISLE Academy, the participants will rotate at the workstations in order to complete the appropriate exercises and procedures, depending on their level of expertise.

Watch LIVE Robotic Interventions

During the first day of the workshop, it will be possible to watch real-time gynecological robotic operations in the modern facilities of the Metropolitan General operating rooms.

This innovative training approach helps to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals in the field of gynecological robotic surgery.

As stated by Dr. Nikolaos Plevris, head of this organization, “We wish all participants a constructive and educational experience. Knowing the importance of practical training, we aim to experientially acquaint the participants through many hours of hands-on practice in modern robotic surgical systems in gynecology and a specially structured training program.

Dates and Location

The R-SEGA Workshop will take place from February 15 to 17, 2024 at ISLE Academy (119 Kifisias Ave., Marousi) and at Metropolitan General (264 Mesogeion Ave., Cholargos).
