On a permanent basis, the implementation of anti-influenza vaccination of adults at the pharmacy
On a permanent basis, the anti-influenza vaccination of adults will be valid without the obligation to present a medical prescription. This is foreseen in an amendment of the Ministry of Health that was passed yesterday in a bill of the Ministry of Finance.
The amendment includes:
Provision of the law that provides for the implementation of the anti-influenza vaccination of adults at the pharmacy, without the need to present a medical prescription, on a permanent basis, henceforth for all vaccination periods. “Following the relevant request of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association, with the passing of the relevant article, it will no longer be required every year to vote on the possibility of carrying out anti-influenza vaccination of adults without a medical prescription, as the above provision of the law will apply from now on, states the PFS.
Also included in the amendment is a provision of the law with the extensions of the measures concerning pharmacies.
In particular, the validity of the monthly and recurring drug prescriptions of the EOPYY will be extended until 31.12.2024. The expiry of EOPYY prescriptions which have expired or are to be issued by the Electronic Prescribing System, is expected to be extended until 31.12.2024 with the usual procedures followed by HDIKA, giving priority to newly issued prescriptions and after those that were prescribed by the previous period. It is also possible to reissue prescriptions for chronic diseases through the Electronic Prescribing System upon the patient’s request to the physician, without the obligation to print the prescription and attach any accompanying documents. The pharmacist must write down the indication “Re-prescribed fixed medication for chronic diseases” and the ADT of the person who receives them.
Also included is the possibility of reissuing monthly or recurring patient opinions through the electronic system of the e-DAPY upon the patient’s request to the doctor, without the obligation to print the opinion in paper form or to have it approved by a medical examiner. The recipient’s ID number is noted on the execution sheet, as an identification element, and the opinions are performed until the expiration date, as defined on the issued electronic opinion.
