Regarding vaccination against the HPV virus (strains of which are blamed for cervical cancer), Ms. Agapidaki underlined the importance of universal coverage and not neglecting the Pap test and the HPV DNA test, pointing out that if vaccination and tests continue to progress satisfactorily, Greece can achieve zero cases of cervical cancer.

In addition, he referred to the projects to upgrade the Health Centers through the Recovery Fund, which are in progress as the relevant contracts have already been signed concerning the Health Centers of Arnissa, Krya Vrysis, Aridaia and Skydra.

Mrs. Agapidaki was informed by the staff of the Health Centers about the progress of the implementation of the National Prevention Program, “PROLAMBANO”, which includes preventive examinations for breast and cervical cancer, colon and cardiovascular diseases.
