For her important certification received by Atticon Hospital mentioned in his post the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis.

And he continued: “The Hospital unit Atticon is the first AEE Unit of the National Health System to receive relevant certification. They have the corresponding certification receive 2 AEE units in private clinics of our country.

For this certification, many elements of the hospitalized patients as well as the infrastructure of the Attikon hospital that hosts the unit are examined in detail (average duration of hospitalization, number of intravenous thromboembolisms, number of mechanical thromboectomies, number of carotid revascularization operations, possibility of neurosurgery, possibility of transcranial Doppler in all patients, possibility of performing neuroimaging examinations & digital angiography, the possibility of transthoracic and transesophageal examinations, echocardiograms and prolonged heart rate recordings, the rate of nosocomial infections, the possibility of MAF AAE being covered by the hospital’s ICU, the existence of modern therapeutic medical and nursing protocols, the competence & training of the medical and nursing staff personnel in the management of patients with stroke, the interdisciplinary management of patients and finally the outcome of hospitalized patients during their hospitalization and in the first trimester after hospitalization).

First of all, I would like to thank Professor Mr. George Tsivgoulis and his team for their success, all the Directors and staff of all the clinics and laboratories of PGN “ATTIKON” who cooperate in the best way and support the hospital’s MAF AEE. I would also like to express special thanks to the Administration of the Hospital, to the Administration of the Second Ministry of Health for the continuous and substantial support of the AEE Unit both in the staffing of the medical and nursing staff and in terms of equipment. Without the help of all the team, the positive international evaluation of the work of the AEE Unit in the context of its operation at the PGN “ATTIKON” could not have been completed successfully.

Finally, this distinction reflects the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Health over the last 5 years as well as the Administration of the EKPA to upgrade the health services provided to Greek citizens with Vascular Stroke and to provide excellent medical education to our students. The NHS not only does not collapse, but evolves and progresses!».
