Today, the stock market closed at new 14-year highs, exceeding the levels of 1,500 units, with increased turnover. Banking shares were at the center of investment interest.

The General Price Index closed at 1,506.61 points, marking an increase of 1.33%.

The main stock index surpassed 2024 highs of 1,502.79 (May 20, 2024 session), closing at the highest levels since the April 13, 2011 session (1,531.04), at new 14-year highs.

The value of transactions amounted to 168.02 million. euros, while 46,869,521 shares were traded.

The large-cap index rose 1.62%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.72%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Piraeus (+3.23%), Alpha Bank (+3.18%), Ethniki (+3.12%), Jumbo (+2, 94%) and Eurobank (+2.19%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Lamda Development (-1.21%) and PPA (-1.15%).

Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 13,236,813 and 13,192,252 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Eurobank with 30.75 million. euros and Piraeus with 23.79 million euro.

76 stocks moved up, 36 down and 17 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Chaidemenos +10.34% and Akritas +9.72%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Leventeris(p) -20.00% and Frigoglass -4.59%.
