by

The professor of Pharmacology at the Medical School of the University of Crete, Achilleas Gravanis, rang the alarm bell for the pandemic, speaking on SKAI TV, stating that 55% of the population is at the mercy of the coronavirus.

Specifically, the professor stressed that this percentage results from the unvaccinated fellow citizens who correspond to 38% of the general population in combination with 5-7% fully vaccinated with weak immune system and 10-15% of the health vaccinated who were vaccinated at the beginning of the year and need the third dose.

“We are in a marathon process with the pandemic but we will win it,” said the professor, while estimating that the pandemic will turn into an endemic influenza disease even within the next one, if the vaccinations are intensified. In this case he said that “We will be infected but we will pass it home, without problems”

He also pointed out that natural immunity is lower in strength and scope than that offered by the vaccine, while stating that those who “choose” it will pay the price and some will lose their lives. “The only immunity we can have is the vaccine “, he underlined.

The professor of medicine and Rector of EKPA Athanasios Dimopoulos characterized the third installment as necessary.

He reiterated that the booster dose should be given after six months by those who have been ill as well as those who have high antibodies.

He added that it was no coincidence that countries such as Spain, with high vaccination coverage, had reduced the number of deaths and cases.
