Feb 10 begins its operation the afternoon pharmacy to hospital “Silk” to serve with scheduled appointments of Oncology patients.

The administration of the Piraeus Cancer Hospital “Metaxas” in close cooperation with the Pharmaceutical Department, decided to integrate the pharmaceutical department into the all -day operation of the Metaxas Hospital, with an afternoon pharmacy operation.

All oncology insured persons of EOPPY and other insurance funds in Piraeus and the nearby islands will be served, with scheduled appointments. Thus, patients will not have to resort to an EOPPY branch in order to take their medicines.

Appointment and Opening Hours

The operation of the Metaxas afternoon pharmacy will start On Monday 10 February, While they will follow an appointment for the 14th, 18th and 24th of February.

The opening hours of afternoon pharmacy is determined by the 15:00 to 18:00while interested parties can call for an appointment planning on a daily basis at 2132079144 between 8:00 – 9:00 am.

It is noted that this is the first time in the history of Metaxas Hospital that operates afternoon pharmacy.

The decision was taken as a follow -up to the initiatives of the Ministry of Health’s leadership to condemn EOPPY branches in order to avoid suffering patients with chronic diseases, who are often forced to wait a long time in the queue to take their medicines.

“We are here to serve our fellow citizens with chronic health problems and with our decisions to significantly improve their daily lives,” said the Metaxas Hospital Commander Sarantos Efstathopoulos.

“In this direction, and fully reconciled with the vision of Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, we decided to operate the afternoon pharmacy at Metaxas Hospital, in order to put a small stone in the overall effort made both at the level of the Ministry of Health and at 2nd level. Piraeus & Aegean Health District, with the main aim of improving the quality of life of oncological patients »Mr Efstathopoulos said.

And he expressed the belief that this initiative would not only be embraced and had significant success, but soon expanded to days and hours of operation to serve as many suffering citizens as possible.
