The National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announces the formation and operation of a Council of Experts headed by Professor Elias Mosialos. Leading Greek scientists of world renown participate, aiming to transfer know-how and best scientific practices in Public Health.
This is a key step of the new administration of EODY, under Professor of Pediatrics Theoklis Zaoutis, towards the modernization of the Organization and its operation to the standards of the International Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which points out: “The pandemic COVID-19 highlighted the need to modernize Public Health, and gave a strong impetus to make this a reality. In order to implement this project strategically and effectively for EODY, we have developed a roadmap for the modernization of the Organization, in order to function as a modern CDC. Similar interventions will follow from EODY in the Public Health surveillance systems, in the treatment of infections related to health services (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In addition, emphasis will be placed on establishing a formal network of laboratory monitoring and response and on the prevention of chronic diseases. The ultimate goal of the above is to strengthen the scientific prestige of the Organization and to align it with its vision and mission.
