Overall, from the Flu Surveillance Authority until 23 February, 141 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza have been recorded in ICU hospitalization
It continues to increase the positivity for the influenza in the community, which remains high, as opposed to the low -9 COVID-19, according to the ERD Epidemiological report for February 17-23.

Influenza
The plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) remains above the limit that marks the seasonal activity of the influenza, increasing compared to the previous week. The positivity of the Sari Surveillance Network samples showed a decrease compared to last week.
In the week of February 17-23, six new serious cases of ICU hospitalization and four new deaths were recorded by laboratory confirmed flu. In addition, two serious cases of laboratory confirmed influenza were reportedly reported in ICUs for previous weeks.
Overall, from the Authority of Influenza to February 23, 141 laboratory confirmed cases have been recorded with ICU hospitalization and 43 deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza. Among 2,682 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 482 (17%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 471 of them were standardized, with 365 (77.5%) belonging to type A and 106 (22.5%) to type b.
SARS-COV2 virus-COVID-19 infection
The positivity of all controlled samples is at very low levels, with no remarkable change compared to the previous week. 126 new imports were recorded. The average weekly number of new imports in the previous four weeks was 244.
A new intubation was recorded. The average weekly number of new intubations in the previous four weeks was six. The number of patients with COVID-19 infection who are hospitalized is eight.
Seven new deaths were recorded. The average weekly number of deaths in the previous four weeks was 16.
From the beginning of 2024 to 23 February 2025, recorded deaths in serious cases (intubated and/or hospitalized in ICU) amount to 379.

Fluid Subscription – ILI (regardless of pathogenic)
The number of influenza subscription cases per 1,000 visits increased compared to last week.
Severe Acute Respiratory Infection – Sari (regardless of pathogen)
The number of Sari outbreaks per 1,000 visits was reduced compared to last week.
Of the 345 type A strains, 206 (60%) belonged to the sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 139 (40%) to Subject A (H3).
Respiratory Syndrome – RSV
Positivity showed a decrease in both the community (Sentinel PFI surveillance network) and the Sari Surveillance Network, remaining low.
