The plot of influenza in the community is declining, while the positivity for COVID-19 is at low levels, according to the Epidemiological Report of the ESDA Respiratory infections for the period 31 March-6 April.
Specifically in the report stated:
Fluid Subscription – ILI (regardless of pathogenic)
The number of influenza subscription cases per 1,000 visits showed a significant decrease compared to last week.
Severe Acute Respiratory Infection – Sari (regardless of pathogen)
The number of Sari outbreaks per 1,000 visits was reduced compared to last week.
SARS-COV2 virus-COVID-19 infection
The positivity to all controlled samples remains at low levels.
56 new imports were recorded. The average weekly number of new imports in the previous four weeks was 88. No new intubations were recorded. The average weekly number of new intubations in the previous four weeks were two. The number of patients with COVID-19 infection who are hospitalized is four.
Two new deaths were recorded. The average weekly number of deaths in the previous four weeks was five.
Influenza
The plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) has declined a significant reduction. The positivity of the Sari surveillance network samples remains low, decreasing compared to the previous week.
During the last week a new serious case of ICU hospitalization and three new deaths were recorded by laboratory confirmed influenza. In addition, a serious case of a laboratory of confirmed influenza with ICU hospitalization and an death from a laboratory confirmed influenza was retroactively reported in previous weeks. Among 4,075 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 829 (21%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 816 of them were standardized, with 522 (64%) belonging to Type A and 294 (36%) to Type B. Of the 491 Type A strains, 247 belonged to the sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 244 to Subject A (H3).
Respiratory Syndrome – RSV
The activity of RSV remains relatively mild, both in the community (Sentinel PFI surveillance network) and on the Sari surveillance network, showing small weekly fluctuations.
