The Ministry of Health announced accession 517 pediatrician in the system of HIDA, who are now involved in the institution of the personal pediatrician. This new institution ensures the free and organized monitoring of the health of children aged 0-16 years in the context of primary health care.
Each pediatrician can undertake up to 1,500 children, which means that the available potential is sufficient to cover more than 750,000 children – a number that far exceeds the original target of 500,000 children set by the government and Deputy Minister of Health Irene Agapidakis.
The registration of 108,188 children, of which 12,251 are new registrations after the enrollment platform has been activated in the last 2 months, confirms the high response of parents and the utility of the institution.
The ministry invites parents to use the opportunity to register with a personal pediatrician, ensuring free health care for their children. Registration is done either electronically through prosopikos.gov.gr or with the help of a pediatrician.
The institution of the personal pediatrician is an important step in shielding children’s public health and the deconstruction of the health system, emphasizing the prevention, guidance and constant relationship between family and pediatrician.
