The trend of de-escalation viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in its municipal waste Thessaloniki confirm the latest measurements of the week for the research conducted by the Sewage Epidemiology Team of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with EYATH, in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia and within the framework of its National Network ΕΟΔΥ.
As shown in the diagrams presented by APE-MPE from March 29 onwards, the viral load of wastewater is recorded in a gradual downward trend.
Specifically, in the samples taken daily at the entrance of the Thessaloniki wastewater treatment plant, regarding the rationalized values of relative viral load secretion, the average value of the two most recent measurements, ie Wednesday 06/04/2022 and Thursday 07/04/2022 is:
Marginally reduced (-22%) in relation to the average value of the two immediately preceding measurements of Monday 04/04/2022 and Tuesday 05/04/2022.
-Reduced (-41%) compared to the average price of the previous Wednesday 30/03/2022 and Thursday 31/03/20
The coronavirus assessment methodology in municipal waste, developed by the AUTh team, streamlines the measurements of the virus genome concentration based on 24 environmental factors, which may alter the results of the measurements.
