Mônica Bergamo: Laboratory has a 62% increase in dengue tests, and the country sees an increase in cases

The Hermes Pardini group, a network of private laboratories with national operations, recorded a 61% increase in the volume of dengue tests carried out between February and March this year. In the first two weeks of May alone, there was a 62% increase in the number of exams performed, compared to the entire month of April.

Until May 7, Brazil recorded 757,068 probable cases of dengue, according to data from the latest epidemiological bulletin from the Ministry of Health. The amount is equivalent to 354.9 infections per 100 thousand inhabitants, and represents an increase of 151.4% compared to the same period in 2021. So far, 265 deaths from the disease have been confirmed.
