First Light Pavilion

The first Light Pavilion at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire was opened to the public after an investment of 521.5 million.

The observatory was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019, recognizing its leading role in the history of astronomy in the world. This project was mainly led by a team of women.

The new First Light Pavilion will open to the public at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire on June 4, after an investment of 21.5 million euros.  The observatory was recognized as playing a world leading role in the history of astronomy and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. The 76 meter wide dome has a new permanent display area and a sunken spectacle in the planetarium that attracts astronauts from all over the country.  ticket? The structure is an incredible 250-foot-diameter dome that features a new permanent exhibit area and an underwater planetarium show where space fans soar high.

In association with Phoenix Comics, Rebellion and DC Thomson, the Oxford Story Museum presents KA-BOOM!  The Art of Comic Book Creation is an interactive exhibit in the form of a giant pop-up comic that is perfect for kids of all ages.  Experience the comic book creation process with help from cult comic book transformation characters like Dennis and Gunasher, Cadet Dwarf, Minimini, Bunny VS Monkey, and tips from leading comic book artists.
