Is your first date a little… lazy?
It’s not embarrassing to have a fun first date, they can be fun, but if you’re trying to connect deeply with someone, it might be a good idea to try a sober date.
This is a trend that Hinge has observed in recent research. That’s because half of the app’s users prefer light-drinking dates because they want to get in the “right mindset” when dating.
We were all there. Someone looks good on you, but the next day you discover that they really only benefit from the vision represented in your vodka.
Changing the role of alcohol on your date is one way to get rid of this inconvenience.
According to Hinge, more users are able to attend cooler meetings than last year, probably because the novelty of drinking and socializing has worn off slightly after three blocks.
For heavy drinkers, the average cutoff for millennials is two, but for Gen Z, it’s three.
Moderation seems to be important to people, with 50% of those surveyed saying that romantic relationships would get in the way if they drank too much on their first date.
Logan Uri, Director of Hinge Relationship Science, said:
In addition to saving money, you will also be able to connect to reality. And that’s one of the best ways to have your first date.
Whether you drink “more intentionally” or not, here are some tips to help you break the habit of going out in pubs.
Create a previous ritual
Is it a fluid self-portrait that you have to go meet someone?
Logan said: “Singles say they rely on drinking early to relax and have fun.
What are non-alcoholic options to achieve the same result?
“You can do a previous ritual that helps you think with the same confidence.
“Listen to playlists, call friends to talk, and think of all the reasons to be a perfect match.”
Create a creative date
There are plenty of fun date ideas that don’t depend on drinks.
Logan suggests: “You can play miniature golf, make tacos, have a picnic in the park or visit the coffee shop while listening to live music.
“Skip the cocktails and focus on date ideas, including play and hookups.”
know your limits
Logan said:
“If you don’t drink, don’t you drink?” Tell others what you are used to.
“They may not know how to talk, so they are forced to share vulnerable information and reassure them by asking questions.”
