Oh dear (Image: Reddit / Splitpics UK)

Tanning isn’t fun, but some tan lines are unhappier than others.

From quirky lines and patterns to achingly bright red leather, there’s a cocktail of burns hitting the streets of England this summer.

According to a survey by Medino, 77% of UK residents over the age of 18 do not use sunscreen to protect themselves from the UK sun.

This is terribly wrong, because there is an idea that it is not necessary here compared to abroad.

Exposure to sunlight increases skin cancer and skin aging, and temperatures are rising this week.

So don’t forget to wear SPF this week, fill it in and look for shade before you scroll down and laugh at this hideous collection of tan lines.

You don’t want to be one of the poorly tanned people we’ll talk about next time…

stay safe in the sun

  • Cover with hat, sunglasses and light layer
  • stay in the shade
  • Wear a high SPF with UVA and UVBA protection

Are there any suntans or tans that are worse than the above?
