Late last year, tequila fans were devastated when they learned that the owner’s beloved XO Café was closed.
Known as Café Patronage, this drink was a coffee-flavored version of the brand’s Mexican spirit. It is also popular for shots and cocktails.
Bacardi is said to be discontinuing the coffee version to focus on “other super and ultra premium Patrocinio variants” and discontinue production until there are no more stores.
The cut was one more hit, as if it wasn’t exciting enough for the fans. Some started buying the last bottles available to cafe owners and selling them online at exorbitant prices.
Currently, an unopened bottle of the infused spirit fetches at least £100 on eBay or Amazon, a significant jump from the £25 RRP.
It may still be available discreetly at a separate store, and there are several options you can try on the go.
But if you want to meet the customers of the cafe that you missed, there is another way.

The chef at Mob Kitchen has come up with a recipe that doubles your very own Café Patron XO. It is easier than you think.
With just four ingredients (five including water), it’s as easy as it is impressive.
Here’s how to add a little DIY magic to your liquor cabinet and get back to tasting your favorite dishes.
material
- 1 vanilla
- Tequila 70ml
- Freshly ground coffee 150g
- 100g sugar
- 100ml of water
Method
First, open the vanilla bean, put it in a bottle of tequila and leave it in a safe place overnight.
If you want real flavor and packaging, choose Sponsorship, but you can try different brands if you like.
Then put the freshly ground coffee in a jar and put it in the freezer for 5-6 hours to cool down.
After cooking, remove the mixture and strain into a large jar through a coffee filter. Next, add water and sugar to the pan and bring to a boil.
Once the sugar mixture has melted, add the sifted coffee to the tequila bottle with the sugar syrup and shake well. This is very easy.
From there, you can take skate photos right away, as if the cafe owner never left us.
