PARIS (Reuters) – The deputy managing director of Société Générale, Sébastien Proto, an unsuccessful candidate to succeed Frédéric Oudéa as general manager, will leave the French bank at the end of June, a spokesman for the bank confirmed on Monday. the bank.

Sébastien Proto will leave his post once the merger of the two retail banking networks in France, Société Générale and Crédit du Nord, has been completed.

“These years within the general management of the Societe Generale group (…) will have been rich in the implementation of essential projects for the group and exchanges with the many talents of the bank, in its various businesses”, said Sébastien Proto in a statement seen by Reuters.

“The merger of the Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord networks constitutes in this respect an unprecedented transformation operation on the French banking market”, he added.

Frédéric Oudéa will step down as general manager of Société Générale at the end of May and will be replaced by Slawomir Krupa, currently deputy general manager in charge of corporate and investment banking (BFI).
