To 1,091,088 people total registered unemployed rose in January 2023 compared to 1,084,440 people in December 2022 (percentage change +0.61%) and compared to 1,112,551 people in January 2022 (percentage change -1.93%) ), according to the registered unemployment statistics of the Public Employment Service (DYPA).

In particular, the total number of registered unemployed, based on job search (job seekers), in January 2023, amounted to 1,086,085 people.

Of these, 535,933 (percentage 49.35%) are registered in the register of DYPA for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 550,152 (percentage 50.65%) are registered in the register of DOUBLE for a period of less than 12 months.

Males numbered 395,052 (percentage of 36.37%) and females numbered 691,033 (percentage of 63.63%).

The total number of registered others (non-jobseekers), in January 2023, amounted to 5,003 people.

Men numbered 1,791 (percentage 35.80%) and women amounted to 3,212 (percentage 64.20%).

The total number of subsidized unemployed people, in January 2023, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 193,632 people, of which 97,654 (percentage 50.43%) are common and other subsidized categories and the 95,978 (percentage of 49.57%) are seasonal tourist occupations.

Men amounted to 84,759 (percentage 43.77%) and women numbered 108,873 (percentage 56.23%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 79,386 (percentage 41.00%) are general, 1,557 (percentage 0.80%) are builders, 95,978 (percentage 49.57%) are seasonal tourist professions, 16,089 (percentage 8.31%) are seasonal other (agricultural), 562 (0.29% rate) are educational and 60 (0.03% rate) are other.
