PARIS (Reuters) – The NJJ Project entity of businessman Xavier Niel has not been selected by the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) for the edition of a television service digital terrestrial (TNT), Arcom announced on Wednesday in a press release.

TF1 and M6 won the two TNT services that were open to applications.

NJJ Project, which wanted to set up the “SIX” channel on DTT, was one of the three “finalists” selected last month by Arcom.

The regulator’s decision was taken on Wednesday, in plenary session, “after a comparative examination of the application files and the public hearing, on February 15, 2022, of the three candidates”, is it written in the press release.

Discussions will now be held with TF1 and with M6 to “conclude an agreement intended to define the obligations and commitments of each of the two services”.

“This agreement must be concluded before the issuance of an authorization to use the radio resource on DTT, which itself must take place before May 5, 2023,” said Arcom.
