(News Bulletin 247) – Nokia announces that its OSS/BSS software solutions have been selected by Orange and the company Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), owned by the Egyptian government, to provide a wide range of services for the city of New Administrative Capital.

Nokia’s products will be used to allow customers to order, activate and pay for utilities and data center services.

The deployment is expected to be completed in early 2023.

ACUD is a new smart city being developed about 60 km from Cairo. The city is expected to have up to seven million inhabitants over the next ten years.

Khaled Abbas, President and CEO of ACUD, said: ‘We wanted trusted technology partners to build the city’s digital infrastructure. Our choice therefore fell on the world leaders, Orange and Nokia, for this megaproject. ‘

Hani Adel, Head of Customer Business Team at Nokia, said: ‘We are confident that ACUD will be able to deliver a world-class solution to its users with market-leading IoT use cases. ‘
