(News Bulletin 247) – Renault announced on Monday that it recorded “robust” growth in sales volumes in the first quarter, driven by the success of its new models.

The French automaker said this morning that its global sales reached 354,545 units in the first three months of the year, an increase of 9% compared to the first quarter of 2022.

In Europe, sales of the Renault brand increased by 20% to reach 231,125 units, thanks in particular to its strength in the ‘C segment’ comprising compact cars.

Its sales in this compartment jumped 51% during the quarter on the Old Continent under the effect of the success of recent models such as the Megane E-Tech Electric, the Arkana or the New Austral.

In the electrified vehicle market, Renault posted a 24% increase in sales, supported by its dual offer, both in the electric vehicle segment and its hybrid range.

Already the European leader in the van market, the French group saw its commercial vehicle sales climb 32% in Europe over the quarter, in a market growing by 8%.

Following the publication of these figures, Renault shares opened up more than 0.5% on Monday morning on the Paris Stock Exchange, slightly outperforming a CAC 40 index up around 0.3%.
