The aerospace, defense and security equipment manufacturer reported sales of 4.03 billion euros in the first quarter.
Order intake amounted to 3.42 billion euros in the first quarter, up 14%, thanks in particular to the Defense and Security sector, which recorded organic growth of 31% during the first three months of the year. year.
Thales Chief Financial Officer Pascal Bouchiat said orders in the defense sector benefited from the current geopolitical climate, while demand in the travel sector, particularly for biometric passports, supported the rest of its business. .
“We are seeing a recovery on the airline side with a significant increase in traffic,” he told reporters.
Thales, however, issued a mixed opinion on supply chains.
The supply is improving for the digital identity business, is stable for other electronic components, but under greater pressure for certain types of mechanical equipment, explained Pascal Bouchiat.
