(News Bulletin 247) – Accor presents its “ambitious plans” for expansion in Saudi Arabia with three hotel construction contracts in the kingdom: the Rua Al Madinah project in Medina, an urban planning project in Riyadh, and a project agreement urban covering several cities with Amsa Hospitality.

In detail, the Rua Al Madinah project in Medina will bring together a 142-room Fairmont hotel, 120 Fairmont residences, a 466-room Swissôtel and a 328-room Novotel, which will open their doors over the next few years.

In Riyadh, the urban planning project will see the creation of a luxury hotel complex comprising a 230-room Raffles hotel, a Sofitel residence with hotel services, and a resort of 60 MGallery villas, which is scheduled to open by 2027.

Finally, the urban project agreement with Amsa Hospitality provides for the construction over the next ten years of 18 Accor hotels in several cities in Saudi Arabia, including Ha’il, Jubail, Taif, Al-Ula, Tabuk and Jazan.

“The Group should, in our opinion, double its presence in the Kingdom over the next five years,” says Jean-Jacques Morin, Deputy Managing Director of the Group.

Currently, Accor operates 42 establishments (for 16,334 rooms) in Saudi Arabia, to which are added 56 under development (more than 10,000 rooms).
