(News Bulletin 247) – Accenture announced on Tuesday that it has made a strategic investment in Parfin, a third-generation Internet (Web3) infrastructure specialist for Latin American financial institutions.
Founded in 2019 and based in London and Rio de Janeiro, Parfin provides trading, custody and tokenization services to major financial institutions in the region.
In a press release, Accenture explains that the next stage of the Internet will go through digital property tools based on blockchain, AI and privacy technologies which should in turn encourage the appearance of new digital assets.
With its project dubbed ‘Parchain’, Parfin has designed a blockchain system that allows regulated institutions to participate in decentralized finance, or DeFi, explains the tech consulting giant.
The investment in Parfin is the first operation of the ‘Project Spotlight’ program led by its venture capital branch Accenture Ventures in Latin America.
