(News Bulletin 247) – SES-imagotag announced on Thursday that it intended to alert the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) to the attacks it recently suffered from the American fund Gotham.
The specialist in electronic labels for physical stores also says it plans to introduce all the procedures useful for the defense of its interests, including with the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office for ‘dissemination of false and misleading information’.
Gotham City Research, a specialist in short selling, released a damning report just a week ago in which it questioned the integrity of the company’s financial statements.
In a press release, SES underlines that the firms Deloitte and KPMG, its auditors, issued a certificate indicating that the transactions carried out with its Chinese shareholder BOE had been neutralized and that they were therefore not included in the figure of consolidated business of the group.
“This invalidates the central Gotham City argument on which the accusation of double-counting circular income with BOE and overstating turnover and profit was based,” he explains.
In order to reassure investors in this climate which, according to him, aims to destabilize society, SES-imagotag declared that its activity in the second quarter of 2023, which is coming to an end, would establish a “historic record” with a consolidated turnover exceeding for the first time the milestone of 200 million euros.
Taken as a whole, the first half will also be the company’s best half in history, with consolidated revenue growth expected at more than 30%, in line with annual objectives.
Following these clarifications, the title recovered more than 14% Thursday morning around 10:20 am, signing by far the largest increase in the SBF 120 index, up 0.3%.
Since the publication of the Gotham accusations, the action still shows a loss of 40%, which brings its market capitalization back to around 2.7 billion euros.
