(News Bulletin 247) – Waga Energy announces the signature of a contract with Casella Waste Systems to build and operate three biomethane production units on waste storage sites in the United States.

These units will initially produce approximately 380 GWh of biomethane per year, and will make a major contribution to the development of renewable gas in the United States.

As part of this agreement, Waga Energy will finance and build three purification units on these sites using its patented WAGABOX® technology, and will be responsible for their operation for a period of 20 years.

The three units will avoid the emission of 63,000 tonnes of eqCO2 per year by replacing fossil natural gas.

Seventeen WAGABOX® units are in service in France, Canada and Spain, and fifteen more are under construction in the United States, France and Canada.

Mathieu Lefebvre, Chairman and CEO of Waga Energy: ‘This partnership represents a major step in the global deployment of the WAGABOX® solution, serving the energy transition and the fight against climate change.’
