In serious condition is being treated at the University Hospital of Rio, a 37-year-old man from Agrinio who was severely beaten by strangers in Laganas Zakynthos.

The perpetrators remain missing without an identification or arrest of a suspect, as there was no witness to the incident.

The 37-year-old who works on her island Zakynthos decided on the evening of Sunday 2/7 to Monday 3/7 to go to Laganas for recreation.

In fact, he had communicated his intention to his friend who seems to have prevented him from doing so. Without anyone knowing what happened, the 37-year-old was found in the early hours of Monday with severe injuries after a beating.

Initially his image was not alarming and for two days he had a series of examinations at a private clinic on the island between Tuesday and Thursday, when his image now presented rapid deterioration and it was decided that he should be transferred to Rio.

He has since been hospitalized in non-critical condition but with cognitive impairment and possibly extensive carotid damage.

According to the police, similar incidents of beatings in Laganas “are almost 10 a day”.

Just a few days ago, on July 6, an identical incident also happened in Laganas with a Moroccan man being brutally beaten by British tourists who also hit him hard on the head, as a result of which he was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated in a serious condition.
