(News Bulletin 247) – Dr. Pier Vincenzo Piazza, co-founder and managing director of Aelis Farma, received an award of excellence from the European Society for Behavioral Pharmacology (EBPS), announced Tuesday the biopharmaceutical company.
Aelis, which develops treatments for brain diseases, indicates that this ‘Distinguished Achievement Award’, awarded for more than 20 years, rewards scientists whose discoveries contribute to advancing research in the field of neurosciences and brain diseases.
During the congress, which took place last week in Mannheim (Germany), Pier Vincenzo Piazza was also named honorary life member of the EBPS.
He had intervened earlier to present the discovery of a new generation of drugs and the work of Aelis Farma, greeting in passing the members of his former Inserm research group.
Aelis is currently working on two drug candidates, one aimed at treating cannabis addiction and the other cognitive deficits related to Down syndrome
