(News Bulletin 247) – Volkswagen took stock of its electro-mobility projects on Monday at the Munich Motor Show, saying it was moving “faster than expected” in this area.
The German manufacturer has confirmed that it still plans to launch PPE, its new electric platform common to the whole group (i.e. Audi and Porsche included) as early as next year.
This architecture – which will result in a range of over 600 km and an 800-volt electrical system – will be available for the first time in the Audi Q6 e-tron SUV.
From 2025, the second generation platform called ‘MEB+’ will take off, with improved performance since the vehicles developed under this program will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds. with 20 minute cooldowns.
The entry-level models of the Volkswagen, Skoda and Cupra brands from this platform will be marketed at less than 25,000 euros.
While the MEB platform had already attracted Ford as a partner, Volkswagen says it is in “advanced discussions” with Mahindra so that he too can join this alliance, in particular by acquiring powertrain components.
