LONDON (Reuters) – Air France-KLM reported a record operating profit of 1.3 billion euros in the third quarter on Friday, driven by summer demand.
European airlines are expected to post strong results this quarter thanks in particular to ticket sales during the summer season and as the sector has implemented protective measures against rising fuel prices.
The operating profit recorded by Air France-KLM in the third quarter increased by 31% year-on-year.
Turnover stood at 8.6 billion euros in the third quarter, up 8.9%, in line with consensus. The group’s operating margin increased by 2.9 points year-on-year, reaching 15.5%.
The Franco-Dutch company announced Thursday that it had signed a definitive agreement with Apollo Global Management for quasi-equity financing of 1.3 billion euros, in the capital of a subsidiary holding contracts with commercial partners. of the loyalty program called “Flying Blue”.
