(News Bulletin 247) – The Paris Stock Exchange fell very slightly mid-session this Wednesday in a wait-and-see climate before the publication, Thursday, of inflation in the United States.
The Paris Stock Exchange remains becalmed. The CAC 40 is almost at a standstill at mid-session this Wednesday (-0.05%), at 7427.88 points, in a market which refuses to take risk on the eve of the publication of inflation in UNITED STATES.
This statistic will be published Thursday afternoon and will be decisive in influencing market expectations on the evolution of the monetary policy of the American Federal Reserve (Fed).
“It is likely that the markets anticipated with too much haste the arrival of rapid key rate cuts from the main central banks. Particularly in the United States, where the minutes of the Fed and the declarations of some members of the monetary policy committee seem to indicate that the American central bank is not yet in a position to start easing its monetary policy”, underlines Sebastian Paris Horvitz, of LBPAM.
