(Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange opened on a cautious note on Friday, investors resuming their breath after several consecutive increases pending macroeconomic indicators and new business results.
In the first exchanges, the Dow Jones index loses 31.3 points, or 0.33%, at 44,420.12 points and the Standard & Poor’s 500, wider, increased from 0.07% to 6,123.65 points.
The Nasdaq Composite takes 0.27%, or 50.5 points, at 20.102.10 points.
Investors show caution after a busy week that started with the nomination of Donald Trump and a salvo of announcements from the new president.
Indicators are expected during the session: the PMI index of services and industry for the month of January as well as the final figures for the monthly survey of the University of Michigan on consumer morale.
The American clues are in the process of register a significant weekly increase, the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 having both experienced some of their most important increases since 2022 after Donald Trump’s decisions in terms of artificial intelligence and the launch tried encouraging business results of the season.

Texas Instruments lost 6.6% after announcing providing sales below expectations in the first quarter.
Verizon gained 3.2% after reporting an increase in its number of subscribers in the fourth quarter.
