(Reuters) – Diageo does not intend to sell its Guinness beer brand or its participation in Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH drinks, said the world’s leading spirits on Sunday.

Bloomberg News reported on Friday that the company was studying options for Guinness, a flagship brand of the Diageo portfolio, and that it re -examined its investment in Moët Hennessy. According to the sources cited, Guinness is likely to be estimated at more than $ 10 billion (9.5 billion euros).

“We take note of recent media speculations around the Guinness brand and our participation in Moët Hennessy and we can confirm that we have no intention of selling one or the other of these brands,” said Diageo in a press release.

The company added that it would provide additional information on its activities when it is published on its intermediate results on February 4.

Guinness is a special case in the activity of Diageo, which consists mainly of spirits rather than beer, but his performances have recently exceeded those of brands such as Whiskey Johnnie Walker.
