(Reuters) – The main European scholarships are in the green Thursday at the start of the session, except London, while the European Central Bank (ECB) should later announce the fifth drop in rate since last June.

In Paris, the CAC 40 earns 0.26% at 7,893.04 points around 8:15 a.m. GMT. In Frankfurt, the Dax advances 0.14% and in London, the FTSE 100 yields 0.06%.

The Eurostoxx 50 index increased by 0.47%, the FTSEUROFRST 300 of 0.26%and the Stoxx 600 of 0.27%.

The attention of investors is focused on the BCE monetary policy on Thursday, which is expected to announce a new decrease of 25 basic points of its rates in the face of the low activity on the continent and the slowdown in inflation.

The day before, the federal reserve maintained, as expected, its rates unchanged and warned that the pace of inflation remained high.

Investors also digest a new series of business results and await a good number of economic indicators on both sides of the Atlantic later in the day.

In France, GDP contracted 0.1% in the fourth quarter, according to the first estimate published Thursday by INSEE, which notably quotes the counterposer of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, which had supported growth in the previous quarter .

The preliminary figures for German GDP are expected at 9:00 a.m. GMT.

To the values, Deutsche Bank, which reported a larger than expected drop in its profit in the fourth quarter and for the year 2024, lost 4% at the opening.

In Paris, Mersen takes 12% after announcing on Wednesday to expect an annual current operating margin at the top of the range of his previous forecasts.

The European airline at low prices Wizz Air gives way 10% after having reduced its annual profit forecasts for the second time in six months.
