NEW YORK (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange ended up on Friday, the monthly employment report in the United States having appeased part of the fears about the evolution of the American economy, while Tesla rebounded after the fall of the day before due to the spectacular divorce between her boss Elon Musk and American President Donald Trump.
Investors also appreciated the announcement by the latter of a meeting Monday in London between American and Chinese delegations to discuss a trade agreement.
The Dow Jones index won 1.05%, or 443.13 points, at 42,762.87 points. The larger Standard & Poor’s 500 took 61.06 points, or 1.03% at 6,000.36 points. The index, the main benchmark for investors, has closed above 6,000 points for the first time since February 21. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 231.50 points, or 1.20% to 19,529,953 points.
Over the week, the DOW won 1.17%, the S&P-500 1.5%and the NASDAQ 2.18%.
The American economy created more jobs than expected last month, while the unemployment rate remained stable, which testifies to its resistance despite the shocks caused by Donald Trump’s customs duties.
To individual values, Tesla took 3.67% in the day after her dive of around 15% due to the reciprocal attacks between her co -founder Elon Musk and Donald Trump, who notably threatened to end the federal contracts of societies held by Elon Musk.
Other “Megacap” also shone this Friday with gains of 2.72% for Amazon and 3.25% for alphabet.
Broadcom, on the other hand, sold 5%, the forecast of quarterly turnover of the flea manufacturer who has hardly impressed investors.
General Motors and Ford took 0.79% and 1.58% respectively as a result of Reuters information that China has issued provisional export licenses to rare land suppliers from large American automakers.
Lululemon collapsed by 19.8%, the manufacturer of sports clothing having lowered its target of annual profit by evoking the additional costs caused by the customs rights policy of Donald Trump.
