Washington (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday an agreement with the Pfizer pharmaceutical laboratory on the drop in prices of all his medicines sold as part of the “Medicaid” health insurance program in the United States.

The US administration also plans to unveil a website specializing in direct medication sales, called Trumprx, said a White House official. Pfizer will launch the sale of its new drugs via this site.

In July, Donald Trump asked 17 large pharmaceutical companies to align with their prices abroad, much lower and to engage in it before September 29.

Pfizer is the first laboratory to announce an agreement.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr said at a meeting last month that the administration discussed each of the laboratories individually and that the Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lunick, threatened the customs duties sector to obtain an additional lever effect.
