Recently opened, Braza is a different restaurant that works inside Allianz Parque, the Palmeiras stadium, in the west of São Paulo. One of its strengths is that, whether at football games or at shows that the venue hosts, Braza will put together packages (food, drink and tickets) that talk to the attractions that are on the lawn.
“When Santos comes to play here, we’ll do something with fish and seafood. If it’s against a team from Rio Grande do Sul, maybe I’ll prioritize the carter, something from the region. When the teams from the Northeast come, we’ll have regional food from the Northeast”, says the Chef Giovanni Rene.
At the Kiss show, which took place there on April 30, Braza chose to serve a dinner that would take care of the rockers who abused a little Italian red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, gin and tonic or negroni, all included in the package.
To eat, there was shrimp with gnocchi toasted in lemongrass sauce or a grilled entrecôte with fried egg, onions and French fries, as well as finger foods such as lamb choripan, fish tartar and La Coppa pizza. In the three Coldplay presentations, which will take place in October, the chef promises a menu inspired by the flavors of London, the band’s hometown.
Braza is in a privileged location in the stadium, right in front of one of the goals and the place where the stages are set up. And, in addition to the restaurant space, there are cabin chairs so that everyone can accompany the event seated facing the lawn. There are 122 seats at Braza and another 108 at sister La Coppa, an Italian food house that will open next month. The two spaces share the cabin in front, which has 252 seats.
The price of the ticket ends up impacting a lot the price of the ballad. This Tuesday (24), when Palmeiras hosts Deportivo Táchira, for Libertadores, the package will cost R$ 650. For Coldplay or Guns N’Roses, in September, the cost is R$ 2,000 per head.
On normal days, Braza is open for lunch and dinner — you don’t need to be a Palmeiras member or anything else to visit the place. Just take the elevator up to the third floor of the stadium and choose from the à la carte menu, with dishes inspired by Brazilian biodiversity produced with local ingredients. They are items such as octopus and squid in the brazier, served with Bomba rice socarrat, brown sugar mayonnaise and chicken crispy), or cooked and smoked wagyu ribs, served with hominy risotto, cooking sauce and salt flakes. .
