Back on the Turkish coast the nine boats with 600 migrants

In Turkish coast returned at noon the five sailing boats and the four boats, where a total of about 590 refugee-migrants were on board, according to initial estimates.

The boats attempted to enter Greek territorial waters in the sea area between Samos and Chios, bound for a Greek island.

All vessels and boats were under constant surveillance by its vessels and offshore vessels. Coast Guard in order not to enter Greek territorial waters while the Turkish Coast Guard was informed about the incident.

In fact, according to sources from the Coast Guard, in one of the cases a sailing boat carrying migrants tried to ram a boat of the Coast Guard, but this was not achieved.

About 450 refugees / migrants were on board the sailing vessels. Two of them returned independently to the Turkish shores while the other three arrived accompanied by a Turkish coastguard, which in one case even picked up the passengers from the boat.

Another 140 people aboard four boats were picked up by Turkish coastguards and returned to Turkish shores.
