He even gave her two injections – after he gave her a home treatment – which later, as proved by the forensic expertise, was the fatal mistake. “My child went to this doctor and he examined her formally, gave her two injections that she should not even do because they aggravated the pain. He had to give injections for thrombosis and he, as we saw at the autopsy, used another type. “Even the medical examiner said that the ones she used worsened her health,” said the mother of the 19-year-old.
The girl then after receiving the deficient medical diagnosis and without undergoing the necessary tests for oxygen, blood and blood pressure, returned home with her friend by taxi. Her partner went to the pharmacy to receive treatment and when he returned he saw the 19-year-old lying on the floor in the bathroom. EKAB was immediately called, with the rescuers bringing the girl back to life at the moment, who was rushed from Kozani to Thessaloniki and specifically to “Papageorgiou”. There, despite the titanic efforts of the doctors, the 19-year-old fell into a coma for three months and in December of the same year she passed away.
«We are arriving in Thessaloniki and until that moment no doctor from Kozani informed us about the incident, while they had been notified that my daughter had collapsed. We are waiting for Papageorgiou’s doctors to inform us and in the process they told us that my child was opposed“, Says the mother of the 19-year-old, noting in fact that the medical file sent from Kozani to Thessaloniki was… empty.
With strength of soul she states that three years later she seeks justice for the 19-year-old, at any cost. Her child struggled for more than three months to stay alive, but unfortunately did not succeed. «But my Chryssa wanted to live, she had years to live. “She lived for 112 days in Papageorgiou, where she unfortunately ended up”, said Sofia, emphasizing that she would not move legally if her child was alive, even in a wheelchair. “We would not do anything if my child was alive, because we thought she would live and come back to life, even in a pram. Our lives were ruined».

The mother of the 19-year-old claims that if the specific doctor had taken her daughter to the hospital, she would have lived. «If he kept my child in the hospital he would not die. He told her that “you are young, you have nothing”. My children’s booklets are empty. In the process we learned that my daughter had thrombophilia, we did not know. Papageorgiou told us to look for it, if we had been informed earlier we would have caught the situation».
Mourning friends and relatives – “I have my child on the ground”
Sophia’s family, after the unjust loss of the young girl, climbs her own Golgotha, just like her friends. Four people who studied together in Kozani and had dreams of working abroad, are now called every day – like their relatives – to give their own fight in life, without the 19-year-old.
«Her boyfriend dropped out of school, her sister and her friends had a dream come true as soon as they got their degree to work out. Their lives were ruined.
