The portable cameras of the Hellenic Police, which until recently were used by squads only in Athens, made their first official appearance today, Wednesday, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the School of Sciences.
As of today, the portable cameras of EL.AS. give a picture of any episodes directly at the Headquarters of EL.AS. and from Thessaloniki. At the same time, they record what is happening, in order to have a better and more detailed picture of the events.
Today, the presence of the first camera of EL.AS. in Thessaloniki took place at the student gathering in front of the School of Sciences, at AUTh.
As you can see in the GRTimes photo, the police officer seems to be holding her and recording the mobilization, a fact that provoked reactions from the students, who complain that they are being videotaped and that their personal data is being violated during their mobilizations.
It is recalled that the use of cameras by police operators was a proposal of the trade unions adopted by the then Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis.
